Soon to Be Kayak Fisher
Hello,
I am getting back into fishing after fighting and hopefully beating cancer. I have wanted to pursue kayak fishing for several years now and my wife said go for it. I would like the ability to fish with my son or a buddy occasionally and am looking at a tandem fishing kayak that can be upgraded over time to pedal or power if I decide to do so in the future. Most of the time I will fish solo and the extra space might be nice to have - my golden retriever can come along for the ride .
I have zeroed in on two options: FeelFree Lure II and the NuCanoe Frontier 12. I plan on transporting kayak on top of my Jeep Wrangler so portability is important. I like the value of the Lure II as it comes pretty much ready out of the box but is longer and heavier. I like the adaptability of the Frontier 12 and its 360 seat but they really nickel and dime you - you have to add, and pay for, a lot of options to get same functionality as the Lure II. I live in Eastern Nebraska where waters are calm and intend to fish lakes, ponds, and occasionally slow rivers and streams.
Happy to take comments on my options, pros and cons, etc.
