I have mostly been a bank/dock fisherman most of my life. If you have a good spot that way, chances are others find it or already know about it. Sometimes the terrain changes too. A few years ago we found the best spot for big bream, bluegills mostly, and over 1/2 pound mostly. Some over a pound. It was in plain sight. By the end of the season several people had adopted that spot and pretty much fished it out. More recently our favorite lake has been choking out on shoreline weeds in the water. and underwater growth as well. On top of that the lake was designated as a community pond and stocked with some huge catfish and a lot of smaller ones as well, which brings out the grocery shopping fishers. You know, the ones who keep everything, leave their trash behind, generally reduce the joy of a nice place.
We still manage to have some good times there and we've also found some other local waters.

When it gets down to it, I let folks find their own spots and I find mine. Fish have fins and can swim wherever they want too. Some of the fun to me is catching a good one right where someone just left without hitting that exact spot!

I have met one other fishing kayaker as yet. That was about 35 miles from home. So that's not an issue.
