Tournament Fishing

No concrete plans but tournament fishing could be on the radar for this upcoming summer. I've never fished a tournament before, let alone kayak fished a tournament. Anyone have tips, tricks or advice to share?

I've never been one to look at fishing as a competitive activity. I think it takes away from the meditative aspect of fishing.

Where are you thinking of competing?

Never been to one of these nor participated. But I have considered it, but im too busy right now to get that serious into it.

I thought that I would post a link to this page which goes over the rules for tournament fishing. A must read if you are seriously considering getting into tournament fishing.

i also fish to relax

the relaxation part is what I think a lot of people find is why they do it, especially if you live in the city. it helps to get away and do something out in the open where it's quiet, away from all the norms of city life.

Do keep in mind that is only ONE kayak fishing tournament. The rules and regs vary from organizer to organizer.

I fish to relax also, but I'm terribly competitive

Its the only way to push yourself, well myself...

Im new to this so thanks for mentioning that.
I'll make sure to pay attention to the rules and reg's of other tournaments
